A Summer Shower Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBB DEEEE FGHGG IJKJL KMNMM OMHMM EMMMM

Welcome rain or tempestA
From yon airy powersB
We have languished for themC
Many sultry hoursB
And earth is sick and wan and pines with all her flowersB
-
What have they been doingD
In the burning JuneE
Riding with the geniiE
Visiting the moonE
Or sleeping on the ice amid an arctic noonE
-
Bring they with them jewelsF
From the sunset landsG
What are these they scatterH
With such lavish handsG
There are no brighter gems in Raolconda's sandsG
-
Pattering on the gravelI
Dropping from the eavesJ
Glancing in the grass andK
Tinkling on the leavesJ
They flash the liquid pearls as flung from fairy sievesL
-
Meanwhile unreluctantK
Earth like Danae liesM
Listen is it fancyN
That beneath us sighsM
As that warm lap receives the largesse of the skiesM
-
Jove it is descendethO
In those crystal rillsM
And this world wide tremorH
Is a pulse that thrillsM
To a god's life infused through veins of velvet hillsM
-
Wait thou jealous sunshineE
Break not on their blissM
Earth will blush in rosesM
Many a day for thisM
And bend a brighter brow beneath thy burning kissM
