A Salutation Of His Majesties Ship The Soveraign Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEFGGHHIIJJKKLL MMNNOOPPNNNNQQ

Move on thou floating Trophee built to fameA
And bid her trump spread thy Majestick nameA
That the blew Tritons and those petty GodsB
Which sport themselves upon the dancing floodsC
May bow as to their Neptune when they feelD
The awful pressure of thy potent keelD
Great wonder of the time whose form unitesE
In one aspect two warring oppositesF
Delight and horrour and in them portendsG
Diff'ring events both to thy foes and friendsG
To these thy radiant brow Peaces bright ShrineH
Doth like that golden Constellation shineH
Which guides the Sea man with auspicious beamsI
Safe and unshipwrackt through the troubled streamsI
But as a blazing Meteor to thoseJ
It doth ostents of blood and death discloseJ
For thy rich Decks lighten like Heavens firesK
To usher forth the thunder of thy TiresK
O never may cross wind or swelling waveL
Conspire to make the treach'rous sands thy graveL
Nor envious rocks in their white foamy laughM
Rejoyce to wear thy losses EpitaphM
But may the smoothest most successful galesN
Distend thy sheet and wing thy flying sailesN
That all designes which must on thee embarkO
May be securely plac't as in the ArkO
May'st thou where ere thy streamers shall displayP
Enforce the bold disputers to obeyP
That they whose pens are sharper then their swordsN
May yield in fact what they deny'd in wordsN
Thus when th' amazed world our Seas shall seeN
Shut from Usurpers to their own Lord freeN
Thou may'st returning from the conquer'd MainQ
With thine own Triumphs be crown'd SoveraignQ
