The Muse Of Australia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBCCCD BBBBBBBD E

Where the pines with the eagles are nestled in riftsA
And the torrent leaps down to the surgesB
I have followed her clambering over the cliftsB
By the chasms and moon haunted vergesB
I know she is fair as the angels are fairC
For have I not caught a faint glimpse of her thereC
A glimpse of her face and her glittering hairC
And a hand with the Harp of AustraliaD
-
I never can reach you to hear the sweet voiceB
So full with the music of fountainsB
Oh when will you meet with that soul of your choiceB
Who will lead you down here from the mountainsB
A lyre bird lit on a shimmering spaceB
It dazzled mine eyes and I turned from the placeB
And wept in the dark for a glorious faceB
And a hand with the Harp of AustraliaD
