Brothers from far away landsB
Sons of the fathers of fameC
Here are our hearts and our handsB
This is our song of acclaimC
Lords from magnificent zonesD
Shores of superlative swayE
Awful with lustre of thronesD
This is our greeting to dayE
Europe and Asia are hereF
Shining they enter our portsD
She that is half of the sphereG
Beams like a sun in our courtsD
Children of elders whose dayE
Shone to the planet s white endsD
Meet in the noble old wayE
Sons of your forefather s friendsD

Dressed is the beautiful city the spires of itH
Burn in the firmament stately and stillI
Forest has vanished the wood and the lyres of itH
Lutes of the sea wind and harps of the hillI
This is the region and here is the bay by itH
Collins the deathless beheld in a dreamJ
Flinders and Fawkner our forefathers grey by itH
Paused in the hush of a season supremeJ
Here on the waters of majesty near to usD
Lingered the leaders by towers of flameC
Elders who turn from the lordly old year to usD
Crowned with the lights of ineffable fameC

Nine and seventy years agoK
Up the blaze of yonder bayE
On a great exalted dayE
Came from seas august with snowK
Waters where the whirlwinds blowK
First of England s sons who stoodL
By the deep green bygone woodL
Where the wild song used to flowK
Nine and seventy years agoK
-
Five and forty years agoK
On a grand auspicious mornM
When the South Wind blew his hornM
Where the splendid mountains glowK
Peaks that God and Sunrise knowK
Came the fearless famous bandN
Founders of our radiant landN
From the lawns where roses growK
Five and forty years agoK

By gracious slopes of fair green hillsD
In shadows cool and deepO
Where floats the psalm of many rillsD
The noble elders sleepO
But while their children s children lastP
While seed from seedling springsD
The print and perfume of their pastP
Will be as deathless thingsD
-
Their voices are with vanished yearsD
With other days and hoursD
Their homes are sanctified by tearsD
They sleep amongst the flowersD
They do not walk by street or streamJ
Or tread by grove or shoreQ
But in the nation s highest dreamJ
They shine for evermoreQ

By lawny slope and lucent strandN
Are singing flags of every landN
On streams of splendour bays impearledN
The keels are here of all the worldN
With lutes of light and cymbals clearG
We waft goodwill to every sphereG
The links of love to day are thrownR
From sea to sea from zone to zoneR
And lo we greet in glory drestN
The lords that come from east and westN
And march like noble children forthS
To meet our fathers from the NorthS

-
To Thee be the glory All Bountiful GiverT
The song that we sing is an anthem to Thee-
Whose blessing is shed on Thy people for everT
Whose love is like beautiful light on the sea-
Behold with high sense of Thy mercy unsleepingK
We come to Thee kneel to Thee praise Thee and prayE
O Lord in whose hand is the strength that is keepingK
The storm from the wave and the night from the dayE
