Oh, Tell Me, Ye Breezes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEF BABA

Oh tell me ye breezes that spring from the westA
Oh tell me ere passing awayB
If Leichhardt s bold spirit has fled to its restA
Where moulders the traveller s clayB
Perchance as ye flitted on heedlessly byC
The long lost was yielding his breathD
Perchance ye have borne on your wings the last sighC
That scap d from the lone one in deathD
-
Tell me ye breezes ye ve traversed the wildE
And passed o er the desolate spotF
Where reposeth in silence sweet Nature s own childE
Where slumbers one nearly forgotF
-
Ye answer me not but are passing awayB
Ye breezes that spring from the westA
Unhallow d still moulders the traveller s clayB
For unknown is the place of his restA
