News Of War Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBABABBCCDCDC| Today while yet the rumour filled the street | A |
| I left your faces troubled with the thought | B |
| Of brothers to a bodeful fury wrought | B |
| And hurrying past a thousand twinkling feet | A |
| With clouded heart a solitude I sought | B |
| The haunt of many leaves a cool retreat | A |
| And mused of strife with untold interest fraught | B |
| Of homes of bloody battles to be fought | B |
| Nor stirred till night rose stormy and the deep | C |
| Moaned like some monster shaken in its sleep | C |
| Then doleful sounds came up from lea and lynn | D |
| Where rain fell heavy on the gloomy deep | C |
| As if the world so old and sick of sin | D |
| Had turned her face into the dark to weep | C |
