Towards the hills of JamberooA
Some few fantastic shadows hasteB
Uplit with firesC
Like castle spiresD
Outshining through a mirage wasteB
Behold a mournful glory sitsE
On feathered ferns and woven brakesF
Where sobbing wild like restless childG
The gusty breeze of evening wakesF
Methinks I hear on every breathH
A lofty tone go passing byI
That whispers WeaveJ
Though wood winds grieveJ
The fadeless blooms of PoesyF
-
A spirit hand has been abroadK
An evil hand to pluck the flowersF
A world of wealthL
And blooming healthL
Has gone from fragrant seaside bowersF
The twilight waxeth dim and darkM
The sad waves mutter sounds of woeN
But the evergreen retains its sheenO
And happy hearts exist belowN
But pleasure sparkles on the swardP
And voices utter words of blissF
And while my brideQ
Sits by my sideQ
Oh where's the scene surpassing thisF
-
Kiama slumbers robed with mistR
All glittering in the dewy lightS
That brooding o'erA
The shingly shoreA
Lies resting in the arms of NightS
And foam flecked crags with surges chillT
And rocks embraced of cold lipped sprayA
Are moaning loud where billows crowdU
In angry numbers up the bayA
The holy stars come looking downV
On windy heights and swarthy strandW
And Life and LoveX
The cliffs aboveX
Are sitting fondly hand in handW
-
I hear a music inwardlyY
That floods my soul with thoughts of joyZ
Within my heartA2
Emotions startA2
That Time may still but ne'er destroyZ
An ancient Spring revives itselfB2
And days which made the past divineC2
And rich warm gleams from golden dreamsF
All glorious in their summer shineC2
And songs of half forgotten hoursF
And many a sweet melodious strainD2
Which still shall riseF
Beneath the skiesF
When all things else have died againE2
-
A white sail glimmers out at seaY
A vessel walking in her sleepF2
Some Power goes pastG2
That bends the mastG2
While frighted waves to leeward leapF2
The moonshine veils the naked sandW
And ripples upward with the tideQ
As underground there rolls a soundH2
From where the caverned waters glideQ
A face that bears affection's glowN
The soul that speaks from gentle eyesF
And joy which slipsF
From loving lipsF
Have made this spot my ParadiseF
