Hymn Of Praise Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHH IIJJ KLMM

Encompassed by the psalm of hill and streamA
By hymns august with their majestic themeA
Here in the evening of exalted daysB
To Thee our Friend we bow with breath of praiseB
-
The great sublime hosannas of the seaC
Ascend on wings of mighty winds to TheeC
And mingled with their stately words are tonesD
Of human love O Lord of all the zonesD
-
Ah at the close of many splendid hoursE
While falls Thy gracious light in radiant showersE
We seek Thy face we praise Thee bless Thee singF
This song of reverence Master Maker KingF
-
To Thee from whom all shining blessings flowG
All gifts of lustre all the joys we knowG
To Thee O Father in this lordly spaceH
The great world turns with worship in its faceH
-
For that glad season which will pass to dayI
With light and music like a psalm awayI
The gathered nations with a grand accordJ
In sight of Thy high heaven thank Thee LordJ
-
All praise is Thine all love that we can giveK
Is also Thine in whose large grace we liveL
In whom we find the One long suffering FriendM
Whose immemorial mercy has no endM
