Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDCEEFGGF EEHIJH KKLDDL MMNIIO IJPQQP GGCEEC RRSGGS

Lo in storms the triple headedA
Hill whose dreadedB
Bases battle with the seasC
Looms across fierce widths of fleetingD
Waters beatingD
Evermore on roaring leasC
Arakoon the black the lonelyE
Housed with onlyE
Cloud and rain wind mist and dampF
Round whose foam drenched feet and netherG
Depths togetherG
Sullen sprites of thunder trampF
-
There the East hums loud and surlyE
Late and earlyE
Through the chasms and the cavesH
And across the naked vergesI
Leap the surgesJ
White and wailing waifs of wavesH
-
Day by day the sea fogs gatheredK
Tempest fatheredK
Pitch their tents on yonder peakL
Yellow drifts and fragments lyingD
Where the flyingD
Torrents chafe the cloven creekL
-
And at nightfall when the drivenM
Bolts of heavenM
Smite the rock and break the bluffN
Thither troop the elves whose home isI
Where the foam isI
And the echo and the cloughO
-
Ever girt about with noisesI
Stormy voicesJ
And the salt breath of the StraitP
Stands the steadfast Mountain GiantQ
Grim reliantQ
Dark as Death and firm as FateP
-
So when trouble treads like thunderG
Weak men underG
Treads and breaks the thews of theseC
Set thyself to bear it bravelyE
Greatly gravelyE
Like the hill in yonder seasC
-
Since the wrestling and enduranceR
Give assuranceR
To the faint at bay with painS
That no soul to strong endeavourG
Yoked for everG
Works against the tide in vainS
