Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBCDCDADAEAEEEEF ECGCGAGAEEEEEEHEHEHE EEEEIEIJIJKJLMLNJNJJ JOPEPELE| London hast thou accused me | A |
| Of breach of laws the root of strife | B |
| Within whose breast did boil to see | A |
| So fervent hot thy dissolute life | B |
| That even the hate of sins that grow | C |
| Within thy wicked walls so rife | B |
| For to break forth did convert so | C |
| That terror could it not repress | D |
| The which by words since preachers know | C |
| What hope is left for to redress | D |
| By unknown means it liked me | A |
| My hidden burden to express | D |
| Whereby it might appear to thee | A |
| That secret sin hath secret spite | E |
| From justice' rod no fault is free | A |
| But that all such as work unright | E |
| In most quiet are next ill rest | E |
| In secret silence of the night | E |
| This made me with a reckless breast | E |
| To wake thy sluggards with my bow | F |
| A figure of the Lord's behest | E |
| Whose scourge for sin the Scriptures show | C |
| That as the fearful thunder clap | G |
| By sudden flame at hand we know | C |
| Of pebble stones the soundless rap | G |
| The dreadful plague might make thee see | A |
| Of God's wrath that doth thee enwrap | G |
| That pride might know from conscience free | A |
| How lofty works may her defend | E |
| And envy find as he hath sought | E |
| How other seek him to offend | E |
| And wrath taste of each cruel thought | E |
| The just shapp higher in the end | E |
| And idle sloth that never wrought | E |
| To heaven his spirit lift may begin | H |
| And greedy lucre live in dread | E |
| To see what hate ill got goods win | H |
| The lechers ye that lusts do feed | E |
| Perceive what secrecy is in sin | H |
| And gluttons' hearts for sorrow bleed | E |
| Awaked when their fault they find | E |
| In loathsome vice each drunken wight | E |
| To stir to God this was my mind | E |
| Thy windows had done me no spite | E |
| But proud people that dread no fall | I |
| Clothed with falsehood and unright | E |
| Bred in the closures of thy wall | I |
| But wrested to wrath in fervent zeal | J |
| Thou haste to strife my secret call | I |
| Endured hearts no warning feel | J |
| O shameless whore is dread then gone | K |
| By such thy foes as meant thy weal | J |
| O member of false Babylon | L |
| The shop of craft the den of ire | M |
| Thy dreadful doom draws fast upon | L |
| Thy martyrs' blood by sword and fire | N |
| In heaven and earth for justice call | J |
| The Lord shall hear their just desire | N |
| The flame of wrath shall on thee fall | J |
| With famine and pest lamentably | J |
| Stricken shall be thy lechers all | J |
| Thy proud towers and turrets high | O |
| En'mies to God beat stone from stone | P |
| Thine idols burnt that wrought iniquity | E |
| When none thy ruin shall bemoan | P |
| But render unto the right wise Lord | E |
| That so hath judged Babylon | L |
| Immortal praise with one accord | E |
