Rhyme Scheme: AAAABAABCDDCAA E AAAADAADCDDCAA

I never saw youe madam laye aparteA
Your cornet black in colde nor yet in heateA
Sythe first ye knew of my desire so greateA
which other fances chased cleane from my harteA
Whiles to my self I did the thought reserveB
That so unware did wounde my wofull brestA
Pytie I saw within your hart dyd restA
But since ye knew I did youe love and serveB
Your golden treese was clad alway in blackeC
Your smilyng lokes were hid thus evermoreD
All that withdrawne that I did crave so soreD
So doth this cornet goveme me alackeC
In sommere sonne in winter breath of frostA
Of your faire eies whereby the light is lostA

Complaint that his ladie after she knew of his loue kept her face alway hidden from himE
-
I neuer sawe my Ladye laye apartA
Her cornet blacke in colde nor yet in heateA
Sith first she knew my griefe was growen so greatA
Which other fansies driueth from my hartA
That to my selfe I do the thought reserueD
The which vnwares did wounde my wofull brestA
But on her face mine eyes mought neuer restA
Yet sins she knew I did her loue and serueD
Her golden tresses cladde alway with blackeC
Her smilyng lokes that hid thus euermoreD
And that restraines whiche I desire so soreD
So dothe this cornet gouerne me alackeC
In somer sunne in winters breath a frostA
Wherby the light of her faire lokes I lostA
