SET me whereas the sun doth parch the greenB
Or where his beams do not dissolve the iceC
In temperate heat where he is felt and seenB
In presence prest of people mad or wiseD
Set me in high or yet in low degreeE
In longest night or in the shortest dayF
In clearest sky or where clouds thickest beE
In lusty youth or when my hairs are grayF
Set me in heaven in earth or else in hellG
In hill or dale or in the foaming floodH
Thrall or at large alive whereso I dwellG
Sick or in health in evil fame or goodI
Her's will I be and only with this thoughtJ
Content myself although my chance be noughtJ
