Sonnet To Mrs. Siddons Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFEFGG

Siddons the Muse for many a joy refin'dA
Feelings which ever seem too swiftly fledB
For those delicious tears she loves to shedB
Around thy brow the wreath of praise would bindA
But can her feeble notes thy praise unfoldC
Repeat the tones each changing passion givesD
Or mark where nature in thy action livesD
Where in thy pause she speaks a pang untoldC
When fierce ambition steels thy daring breastE
When from thy frantic look our glance recedesF
Or oh divine enthusiast when opprestE
By anxious love that eye of softness pleadsF
The sun beam all can feel but who can traceG
The instant light and catch the radiant graceG
