Sonnet To Hope Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHGHII

O ever skilled to wear the form we loveA
To bid the shapes of fear and grief departB
Come gentle Hope with one gay smile removeC
The lasting sadness of an aching heartB
Thy voice benign Enchantress let me hearD
Say that for me some pleasures yet shall bloomE
That Fancy's radiance Friendship's precious tearF
Shall soften or shall chase misfortune's gloomE
But come not glowing in the dazzling rayG
Which once with dear illusions charm'd my eyeH
O strew no more sweet flatterer on my wayG
The flowers I fondly thought too bright to dieH
Visions less fair will soothe my pensive breastI
That asks not happiness but longs for restI
