Sonnet To Expression Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEEFGHHIJJ

Expression child of soul I fondly traceA
Thy strong enchantments when the poet's lyreB
The painter's pencil catch thy sacred fireC
And beauty wakes for thee her touching graceA
But from this frighted glance thy form avertD
When horrors check thy tear thy struggling sighE
When frenzy rolls in thy impassion'd eyeE
Or guilt sits heavy on thy lab'ring heartF
Nor ever let my shudd'ring fancy bearG
The wasting groan or view the pallid lookH
Of him A the Muses lov'd when hope forsookH
His spirit vainly to the Muses dearI
For charm'd with heav'nly song this bleeding breastJ
Mourns the blest power of verse could give despair no restJ
