Sonnet To Disappointment Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEEEEEE

PALE disappointment at thy freezing nameA
Chill fears in every shiv'ring vein I proveB
My sinking pulse almost forgets to moveB
And life almost forsakes my languid frameA
Yet thee relentless nymph no more I blameA
Why do my thoughts 'midst vain illusions roveC
Why gild the charms of friendship and of loveD
With the warm glow of fancy's purple flameA
When ruffling winds have some bright fane o'erthrownE
Which shone on painted clouds or seem'd to shineE
Shall the fond gazer dream for him aloneE
Those clouds were sable and at fate repineE
I feel alas the fault is all my ownE
And ah the cruel punishment is mineE
