Zorah Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACBBBCB

An Arab beats upon a kettle drumA
And tuneless is the wailing of the flutesB
As on the sands a slavegirl executesB
Her dance of wantonwild deliriumA
Her body swaying like a pendulumA
Backwards and forwards while in evolutesB
She weaves and weaves before fierce pagan brutesB
Who gaze at her in wonder that is dumbA
I look upon her limbs bronzed by the sunC
And see within her eyes strange caravansB
Marching all day across blank desert landsB
Until they come at night to where in ringsB
The Nomad fires glimmer one by oneC
around the tombs of longforgotten kingsB
