The Tower Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAABCCCB DDDEFGGFGHHFG

He built a tower for all to seeA
With sun washed gardens planted wideB
And there with pomp of pageantryA
With men at arms and minstrelsyA
And moonbeam ladies fair and freeA
He revelled in his prideB
And there with soft prayers muttered slowC
And wind blown candles burning lowC
And hooded mourners row on rowC
In pomp of peace he diedB
-
Now time forgets how many a sunD
Above the waste has risen and runD
Since all the feasts were over and doneD
Yet still from rusty pinnacleE
From cobwebbed pane and broken bellF
A wind voice murmurs Here am IG
'Twas good to live and dieG
And good to rear these carved stones wellF
'Twixt laboring earth and dreaming skyG
And now 'tis good to watch and waitH
While the slow centuries pass in stateH
And make old time my glory tellF
To you who wander byG
