The Peacemaker Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDACDA

To the world wanderer Samarkand is nearA
The broad Pacific but a narrow straitB
To him old China at the Asian gateB
A neighbor is an elder brother dearA
Toward savage coasts he dares his bark to steerA
Bidding the tempest bear him on in stateB
He knocks at tombs where kings their summons waitB
And meets the gods of eld in deserts drearA
So to the traveller who has long exploredC
Tropics of sickness rocky wastes of painD
Or arctic solitudes of icy sorrowA
To him is death no foe remote abhorredC
But a wise friend a peacemaker who fainD
Would marry loud today with shy tomorrowA
