The Inner Silence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABABCCDAE FGFGHHIJJI

Noises that strive to tearA
Earth's mantle soft of airA
And break upon the stillness where it dwellsB
The noise of battle and the noise of prayerA
The cooing noise of love that softly tellsB
Joy's brevity the brazen noise of laughterC
All these affront me not nor echo afterC
Through the long memoriesD
They may not enter the deep chamber whereA
Forever silence isE
-
Silence more soft than spring hides in the groundF
Beneath her budding flowersG
Silence more rich than ever was the soundF
Of harps through long warm hoursG
'Tis like a hidden vastness even as thoughH
Great suns might there beat out their measures slowH
Nor break the hush mightier than theyI
There do I dwell eternallyJ
There where no thought may follow meJ
Nor stillest dreams whose pinions plume the wayI
