Lullaby Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE AFGFHIHI AJKJLELE

My little one sleep softlyA
Among the toys and flowersB
Sleep softly O my first born sonC
Through all the long dark hoursB
And if you waken far awayD
I shall be wandering tooE
If far away you run and playD
My heart must follow youE
-
Sleep softly O my babyA
And smile down in your sleepF
Here are red rose buds for your bedG
Smile and I will not weepF
We made our pledge you had no fearH
What then to fear have II
Though long you sleep I shall be nearH
So hush we must not cryI
-
Sleep softly dear one softlyA
They cannot part us nowJ
Forever rest here on my breastK
My kiss upon your browJ
What though they hide a little graveL
With dream flowers false or trueE
What difference We will just be braveL
Together I and youE
