And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman takenA
in adultery and when they had set her in the midst theyB
said unto him Master this woman was taken in adultery inC
the very act Now Moses in the law commanded us that such beD
stoned but what sayest thouE
St John Chap viiiF
-
Reach thy hand to me O JesusG
Reach thy loving hand to meD
Or I sink alas and perishH
In my sin and agonyD
-
From the depths I cry O JesusG
Lifting up mine eyes to theeD
Save me from my sin and sorrowI
With thy loving charityD
-
Pity Jesus blessed SaviorJ
I am weak but thou art strongK
Fill my heart with prayer and praisesL
Fill my soul with holy songK
-
Lift me up O sacred JesusG
Lift my bruised heart to theeD
Teach me to be pure and holyD
As the holy angels beD
-
Scribes and Pharisees surround meD
Thou art writing in the sandM
Must I perish Son of MaryD
Wilt thou give the stern commandM
-
Am I saved for Jesus sayethD
Let the sinless cast a stoneN
Lo the Scribes have all departedO
And the Pharisees are goneP
-
Woman where are thine accusersQ
They have vanished one by oneA
Hath no man condemned thee womanA
And she meekly answered NoneA
-
Then he spake His blessed answerJ
Balm indeed for sinners soreR
Neither then will I condemn theeD
Go thy way and sin no moreR
