Hope (from The German Of Schiller) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDD EFGFHH IJAJCC

Men talk and dream of better daysA
Of a golden time to comeB
Toward a happy and shining goalC
They run with a ceaseless humB
The world grows old and grows young againD
Still hope of the better is bright to menD
-
Hope leads us in at the gate of lifeE
She crowns the boyish headF
Her bright lamp lures the stalwart youthG
Nor burns out with the gray haired deadF
For the grave closes over his trouble and careH
But see on the grave Hope is planted thereH
-
'Tis not an empty and flattering deceitI
Begot in a foolish brainJ
For the heart speaks loud with its ceaseless throbsA
We are not born in vainJ
And the words that out of the heart throbs rollC
They cannot deceive the hoping soulC
