The Rites For Cousin Vit Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFGGEH

Carried her unprotesting out the doorA
Kicked back the casket stand But it can't hold herB
That stuff and satin aiming to enfold herB
The lid's contrition nor the bolts beforeA
Oh oh Too much Too much Even now surmiseC
She rises in the sunshine There she goesD
Back to the bars she knew and the reposeD
In love rooms and the things in people's eyesC
Too vital and too squeaking Must emergeE
Even now she does the snake hips with a hissF
Slops the bad wine across her shantung talksG
Of pregnancy guitars and bridgework walksG
In parks or alleys comes haply on the vergeE
Of happiness haply hysterics IsH
