Licia Sonnets 47 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGHGIILike Memnon's rock touched with the rising sun | A |
Which yields a sound and echoes forth a voice | B |
But when it's drowned in western seas is done | A |
And drowsy like leaves off to make a noise | C |
So I my love enlightened with your shine | D |
A poet's skill within my soul I shroud | E |
Not rude like that which finer wits decline | D |
But such as Muses to the best allowed | E |
But when your figure and your shape is gone | F |
I speechless am like as I was before | G |
Or if I write my verse is filled with moan | H |
And blurred with tears by falling in such store | G |
Then muse not Licia if my Muse be slack | I |
For when I wrote I did thy beauty lack | I |
