Licia Sonnets 29 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGFGHH

Why died I not whenas I last did sleepA
O sleep too short that shadowed forth my dearB
Heavens hear my prayers nor thus me waking keepA
For this were heaven if thus I sleeping wereC
For in that dark there shone a princely lightD
Two milk white hills both full of nectar sweetE
Her ebon thighs the wonder of my sightD
Where all my senses with their objects meetE
I pass these sports in secret that are bestF
Wherein my thoughts did seem alive to beG
We both did strive and weary both did restF
I kissed her still and still she kissed meG
Heavens let me sleep and shows my senses feedH
Or let me wake and happy be indeedH
