Licia Sonnets 28 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

In time the strong and stately turrets fallA
In time the rose and silver lilies dieB
In time the monarchs captive are and thrallA
In time the sea and rivers are made dryB
The hardest flint in time doth melt asunderC
Still living fame in time doth fade awayD
The mountains proud we see in time come underC
And earth for age we see in time decayD
The sun in time forgets for to retireE
From out the east where he was wont to riseF
The basest thoughts we see in time aspireE
And greedy minds in time do wealth despiseF
Thus all sweet fair in time must have an endG
Except thy beauty virtues and thy friendG
