Hope Holds To Christ The Mind's Own Mirror Out Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDEDE FF

Hope holds to Christ the mind's own mirror outA
To take His lovely likeness more and moreB
It will not well so she would bring aboutA
An ever brighter burnish than beforeB
And turns to wash it from her welling eyesC
And breathes the blots off all with sighs on sighsC
Her glass is blest but she as good as blindD
Holds till hand aches and wonders what is thereE
Her glass drinks light she darkles down behindD
All of her glorious gainings unawareE
-
I told you that she turned her mirror dimF
Betweenwhiles but she sees herself not HimF
