Harry Ploughman Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBAABBBAA CDCCDCDD

Hard as hurdle arms with a broth of goldish flueA
Breathed round the rack of ribs the scooped flank lankB
Rope over thigh knee nave and barrelled shankB
Head and foot shoulder and shankB
By a grey eye's heed steered well one crew fall toA
Stand at stress Each limb's barrowy brawn his thewA
That onewhere curded onewhere sucked or sankB
Soared or sankB
Though as a beechbole firm finds his as at a roll call rankB
And features in flesh what deed he each must doA
His sinew service where doA
-
He leans to it Harry bends look Back elbow and liquid waistC
In him all quail to the wallowing o' the plough 's cheek crimsons curlsD
Wag or crossbridle in a wind lifted windlacedC
See his wind lilylocks lacedC
Churlsgrace too child of Amansstrength how it hangs or hurlsD
Them broad in bluff hide his frowning feet lashed racedC
With along them cragiron under and cold furlsD
With a fountain's shining shot furlsD
