God's Grandeur Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCDCD

The world is charged with the grandeur of GodA
It will flame out like shining from shook foilB
It gathers to a greatness like the ooze of oilB
Crushed Why do men then now not reck his rodA
Generations have trod have trod have trodA
And all is seared with trade bleared smeared with toilB
And wears man's smudge and shares man's smell the soilB
Is bare now nor can foot feel being shodA
-
And for all this nature is never spentC
There lives the dearest freshness deep down thingsD
And though the last lights off the black West wentC
Oh morning at the brown brink eastward springsD
Because the Holy Ghost over the bentC
World broods with warm breast and with ah bright wingsD
