In reel in waltz in lancer's mazeB
She moved with pretty air of graceC
And all the ball room's brilliant blazeB
Seemed borrowed brightness from her faceC
O winsome maid demure and sweetD
I'll ne'er forget when first I met herE
And saw the dainty slippered feetD
Glide o'er the floor at LinniettaD

-
O dreams of youth and beauty rareF
What rose hued visions thou canst paintD
But none in loveliness compareF
With her who seemed Love's patron saintD
Her pictured image haunts the mindD
And oh I never can forget herE
Nor rarer pleasure hope to findD
Than dance with her at LinniettaD

-
Arrayed in softly flowing gownG
The love light flashing from her eyesH
With cheeks aglow like roses blownI
Beneath the ardent summer skiesH
No artist hand could fitly traceC
The wondrous charm that did beset herE
When tripping with a fairy's graceC
O'er the waxen floor at LinniettaD
