The Black Vulture Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAABBA DCEDCE

Aloof within the day's enormous domeA
He holds unshared the silence of the skyB
Far down his bleak relentless eyes descryC
The eagle's empire and the falcon's homeA
Far down the galleons of sunset roamA
His hazards on the sea of morning lieB
Serene he hears the broken tempest sighB
Where cold sierras gleam like scattered foamA
-
And least of all he holds the human swarmD
Unwitting now that envious men prepareC
To make their dream and its fulfilment oneE
When poised above the caldrons of the stormD
Their hearts contemptuous of death shall dareC
His roads between the thunder and the sunE
