Years Ago Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBCB DBDB EBEB

Near the banks of that lone riverA
Where the water lilies growB
Breathed the fairest flower that everA
Bloomed and faded years agoB
-
Now we met and loved and partedC
None on earth can ever knowB
Nor how pure and gentle heartedC
Beamed the mourned one years agoB
-
Like the stream with lilies ladenD
Will life's future current flowB
Till in heaven I meet the maidenD
Fondly cherished years agoB
-
Hearts that love like mine forget notE
They're the same in weal or woB
And that star of memory set notE
In the grave of years agoB
