Woman Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAABCC DEDDEFFEGG HIHIJBJB

Ah woman in this world of oursA
What boon can be compared to theeB
How slow would drag life's weary hoursA
Though man's proud brow were bound with flowersA
And his the wealth of land and seaB
If destined to exist aloneC
And ne'er call woman's heart his ownC
-
My mother At that holy nameD
Within my bosom there's a gushE
Of feeling which no time can tameD
A feeling which for years of fameD
I would not could not crushE
And sisters ye are dear as lifeF
But when I look upon my wifeF
My heart blood gives a sudden rushE
And all my fond affections blendG
In mother sisters wife and friendG
-
Yes woman's love is free from guileH
And pure as bright Aurora's rayI
The heart will melt before her smileH
And base born passions fade awayI
Were I the monarch of the earthJ
Or master of the swelling seaB
I would not estimate their worthJ
Dear woman half the price of theeB
