Where Hudson's Wave Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJKLKL

Where Hudson's wave o'er silvery sandsA
Winds through the hills afarB
Old Cronest like a monarch standsA
Crowned with a single starB
And there amid the billowy swellsC
Of rock ribbed cloud capped earthD
My fair and gentle Ida dwellsC
A nymph of mountain birthD
-
The snow flake that the cliff receivesE
The diamonds of the showersF
Spring's tender blossoms buds and leavesE
The sisterhood of flowersF
Morn's early beam eve's balmy breezeG
Her purity defineH
Yet Ida's dearer far than theseG
To this fond breast of mineH
-
My heart is on the hills The shadesI
Of night are on my browJ
Ye pleasant haunts and quiet gladesI
My soul is with you nowJ
I bless the star crowned highlands whereK
My Ida's footsteps roamL
O for a falcon's wing to bearK
Me onward to my homeL
