When Other Friends Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAAAA ACACAAAA

When other friends are round theeA
And other hearts are thineB
When other bays have crowned theeA
More fresh and green than mineB
Then think how sad and lonelyA
This doating heart will beA
Which while it beats beats onlyA
Beloved one for theeA
-
Yet do not think I doubt theeA
I know thy truth remainsC
I would not live without theeA
For all the world containsC
Thou art the start that guides meA
Along life's troubled seaA
And whatever fate betides meA
This heart still turns to theeA
