Tis Now The Promised Hour. A Serenade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGHGHIJIJ EFEF

The fountains serenade the flowersA
Upon their silver luteB
And nestled in their leafy bowersA
The forest birds are muteB
The bright and glittering hosts aboveC
Unbar their golden gatesD
While Nature holds her court of loveC
And for her client waitsD
Then lady wake in beauty riseE
'Tis now the promised hourF
When torches kindle in the skiesE
To light thee to thy bowerF
The day we dedicate to careG
To love the witching nightH
For all that's beautiful and fairG
In hours like these uniteH
E'en thus the sweets to flowerets givenI
The moonlight on the treeJ
And all the bliss of earth and heavenI
Are mingled love in theeJ
Then lady wake in beauty riseE
'Tis now the promised hourF
When torches kindle in the skiesE
To light thee to thy bowerF
