The Sycamore Shade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCAA DEEFFDD GBBCCGG

I knew a sweet girl with a bonny blue eyeA
Who was born in the shadeB
The wild sycamore madeB
Where the brook sang its songC
All the summer day longC
And the moments went merrily byA
Like the birdlings the moments flew byA
-
I knew a fair maid soul enchanting in graceD
Who replied to my vowE
'Neath the sycamore boughE
Like the brook to the seaF
Oh I yearn love for theeF
And she hid in my bosom her faceD
In my bosom her beautiful faceD
-
I have a dear wife who is ever my guideG
Wooed and won in the shadeB
The wild sycamore madeB
Where the brook sings it songC
All the summer day longC
And the moments in harmony glideG
Like our lives they in harmony glideG
