The Exile To His Sister Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCE AFAFGAGA

As streams at morn from seas that glideA
Rejoicing on their sparkling wayB
Will turn again at eventideA
To mingle with their kindred sprayB
Even so the currents of the soulC
Dear sister wheresoe'er we roveD
Will backward to our country rollC
The boundless ocean of our loveE
-
You northern star now burning brightA
The guide by which the wave tossed steerF
Beams not with a more constant lightA
Than does thy love my sister dearF
From stars above the streams belowG
Receive the glory they impartA
So sister do thy virtues glowG
Within the mirror of my heartA
