Song Of The Sewing-machine Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH EHEHECEC AIAIEJEJ KHKHALAL

I'm the Iron Needle WomanA
Wrought of sterner stuff than clayB
And unlike the drudges humanA
Never weary night or dayB
Never shedding tears of sorrowC
Never mourning friends untrueD
Never caring for the morrowC
Never begging work to doD
-
Poverty brings no disasterE
Merrily I glide alongF
For no thankless sordid masterE
Ever seeks to do me wrongF
No extortioners oppress meG
No insulting words I dreadH
I've no children to distress meG
With unceasing cries for breadH
-
I'm of hardy form and featureE
For endurance framed arightH
I'm not pale misfortune's creatureE
Doomed life's battle here to fightH
Mine's a song of cheerful measureE
And no under currents flowC
To destroy the throb of pleasureE
Which the poor so seldom knowC
-
In the hall I hold my stationA
With the wealthy ones of earthI
Who commend me to the nationA
For economy and worthI
While unpaid the female laborE
In the attic chamber loneJ
Where the smile of friend or neighborE
Never for a moment shoneJ
-
My creation is a blessingK
To the indigent securedH
Banishing the cares distressingK
Which so many have enduredH
Mine are sinews superhumanA
Ribs of oak and nerves of steelL
I'm the Iron Needle WomanA
Born to toil and not to feelL
