Lisette Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDD EFEFGGDD AHAHIIDD

When Love in myrtle shades reposedA
His bow and darts behind him slungB
As dewey twilight round him closedA
Lisette these numbers sungB
O Love thy sylvan bowerC
I'll fly while I've the powerC
Thy primrose way leads maids where theyD
Love honor and obeyD
-
Escape the boy god said is vainE
And shook the diamonds from his wingsF
I'll bind thee captive to my trainE
Fairest of earthy thingsF
Go saucy archer goG
I freedom's value knowG
Begon I pray to none I'll sayD
Love honor and obeyD
-
Speed arrow to thy mark he criedA
Swift as a ray of light it flewH
Love spread his purple pinions wideA
And faded from her viewH
Joy filled that maiden's eyesI
Twin load stars from the skiesI
And one bright day her lips DID sayD
Love honor and obeyD
