Au Revoir Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEF AGAGHDHF

Love left one day his leafy bowerA
And roamed in sportive veinB
Where Vanity had built a towerA
For Fashion's sparkling trainB
The mistress to see he requestedC
Of one who attended the doorD
Not home said the page who suggestedE
That he'd leave his card Au RevoirF
-
Love next came to a lowly bowerA
A maid who knew no guileG
Unlike the lady of the towerA
Received him with a smileG
Since then the cot beams with his brightnessH
Though often at Vanity's doorD
Love calls merely out of politenessH
And just leaves his card Au RevoirF
