Eyes in whose shadow spellF
Far off I readG

This time a yearE

Behold the dark year goesI
Nor will revealJ
Aught of its purpose if for woe or wealJ
Swift as a stream that o'er the mill weir flowsI
Mayhap the end draws nearE
Within the yearE

Yet darling once more touchL
Those lips to mineM
Set on my life that talisman divineM
Absence new friends I fear not overmuchL
Even Death should he appearE
Within the yearE
