The Flown Soul (francis Hawthorne Lathrop) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFGHH IIJJKKLMNNOOPCQQRR SSTTUUVVDE

Come not again I dwell with youA
Above the realm of frost and dewA
Of pain and fire and growth to deathB
I dwell with you where never breathB
Is drawn but fragrance vital flowsC
From life to life even as a roseC
Unseen pours sweetness through each veinD
And from the air distills againE
You are my rose unseen we liveF
Where each to other joy may giveG
In ways untold by means unknownH
And secret as the magnet stoneH
-
For which of us indeed is deadI
No more I lean to kiss your headI
The gold red hair so thick upon itJ
Joy feels no more the touch that won itJ
When o'er my brow your pearl cool palmK
In tenderness so childish calmK
Crept softly once Yet see my armL
Is strong and still my blood runs warmM
I still can work and think and weepN
But all this show of life I keepN
Is but the shadow of your shineO
Flicker of your fire husk of your vineO
Therefore you are not dead nor IP
Who hear your laughter's minstrelsyC
Among the stars your feet are setQ
Your little feet are dancing yetQ
Their rhythmic beat as when on earthR
So swift so slight are death and birthR
-
Come not again dear child If thouS
By any chance couldst break that vowS
Of silence at thy last hour madeT
If to this grim life unafraidT
Thou couldst return and melt the frostU
Wherein thy bright limbs' power was lostU
Still would I whisper since so fairV
This silent comradeship we shareV
Yes whisper 'mid the unbidden rainD
Of tears Come not come not againE
