First Glance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GGHH

A budding mouth and warm blue eyesA
A laughing face and laughing hairB
So ruddy does it riseA
From off that forehead fairB
-
Frank fervor in whate'er she saidC
And a shy grace when she was stillD
A bright elastic treadC
Enthusiastic willD
-
These wrought the magic of a maidE
As sweet and sad as the sun in springF
Joyous yet half afraidE
Her joyousness to singF
-
What weighs the unworthiness of earthG
When beauty such as this finds birthG
Rare maid to look on theeH
Gives all things harmonyH
