The Pulley Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABA CDCDC EDEDE FGHGF

When God at first made manA
Having a glass of blessings standing byB
Let us said He pour on him all we canA
Let the world's riches which dispersed lieB
Contract into a spanA
-
So strength first made a wayC
Then beauty flowed then wisdom honour pleasureD
When almost all was out God made a stayC
Perceiving that alone of all His treasureD
Rest in the bottom layC
-
For if I should said HeE
Bestow this jewel also on my creatureD
He would adore My gifts instead of MeE
And rest in Nature not the God of NatureD
So both should losers beE
-
Yet let him keep the restF
But keep them with repining restlessnessG
Let him be rich and weary that at leastH
If goodness lead him not yet wearinessG
May toss him to My breastF
