The British Church Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFGE HHIJJK LLMNNO PQHRCH

I joy dear mother when I viewA
Thy perfect lineaments and hueA
Both sweet and brightB
Beauty in thee takes up her placeC
And dates her letters from thy faceC
When she doth writeB
-
A fine aspect in fit arrayD
Neither too mean nor yet too gayD
Shows who is bestE
Outlandish looks may not compareF
For all they either painted areG
Or else undress'dE
-
She on the hills which wantonlyH
Allureth all in hope to beH
By her preferr'dI
Hath kiss'd so long her painted shrinesJ
That ev'n her face by kissing shinesJ
For her rewardK
-
She in the valley is so shyL
Of dressing that her hair doth lieL
About her earsM
While she avoids her neighbour's prideN
She wholly goes on th' other sideN
And nothing wearsO
-
But dearest mother what those missP
The mean thy praise and glory isQ
And long may beH
Blessed be God whose love it wasR
To double moat thee with his graceC
And none but theeH
