Prayer (i) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGGH GG

Prayer the Church's banquet angels' ageA
God's breath in man returning to his birthB
The soul in paraphrase heart in pilgrimageC
The Christian plummet sounding heav'n and earthB
-
Engine against th'Almighty sinner's towerD
Reversed thunder Christ side piercing spearE
The six days' world transposing in an hourD
A kind of tune which all things hear and fearE
-
Softness and peace and joy and love and blissF
Exalted manna gladness of the bestG
Heaven in ordinary man well drestG
The Milky Way the bird of ParadiseH
-
Church bells beyond the stars heard the soul's bloodG
The land of spices something understoodG
