H. Baptism Ii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABA CBCBC DEDED

Since Lord to theeA
A narrow way and little gateB
Is all the passage on my infancyA
Thou didst lay hold and antedateB
My faith in meA
-
O let me stillC
Write thee great God and me a childB
Let me be soft and supple to thy willC
Small to my self to others mildB
Behither illC
-
Although by stealthD
My flesh get on yet let her sisterE
My soul bid nothing but preserve her wealthD
The growth of flesh is but a blisterE
Childhood is healthD
