Christmas (ii) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFGHHAAIIJJ

The shepherds sing and shall I silent beA
My God no hymn for TheeA
My soul's a shepherd too a flock it feedsB
Of thoughts and words and deedsB
The pasture is Thy word the streams Thy graceC
Enriching all the placeC
Shepherd and flock shall sing and all my powersD
Outsing the daylight hoursD
Then will we chide the sun for letting nightE
Take up his place and rightE
We sing one common Lord wherefore he shouldF
Himself the candle holdG
I will go searching till I find a sunH
Shall stay till we have doneH
A willing shiner that shall shine as gladlyA
As frost nipped suns look sadlyA
Then will we sing and shine all our own dayI
And one another payI
His beams shall cheer my breast and both so twineJ
Till ev'n His beams sing and my music shineJ
